What Is Artwork?

What Is Artwork?

All orders placed through Quiver require artwork. But what is artwork exactly?

Artwork is a pictorial representation of a film, with important text including title, cast/crew and tag lines. If you've ever been to a movie theater and seen the movie posters that line the walls, then you've seen artwork.

Here is an example artwork for the movie 'Stripped'.

File Requirements

For all orders, Quiver requires what's called a Main Poster Art file. This file is the main artwork for your film.

The Main Poster Art file must meet the following specifications:

1. PSD file - Quiver requires a Photoshop file for the Main Poster Art. Ideally, the photoshop file includes separate layers for the main images and text.

2. Minimum size, color space, and DPI - Quiver requires artwork that:

  • is at least 2000 x 3000 pixels in size,
  • has a color space of RGB,
  • and is at least 72 DPI.

But what does this all mean? If you're unsure whether or not your artwork meets these minimum requirements:

  1. Open the file in Preview (Mac)
  2. Click Command-i to open the file's General Info box
  3. The file's image size is listed as Image Size
  4. The file's DPI is listed as Image DPI
  5. The file's color space is listed as Color Model

3.  G-Rated Artwork - When a title is available on a retailer's storefront, the artwork for that title will be visible to everyone, including children. Because of this, Quiver requires all artwork to be free of nudity, extreme violence/gore, and any content that could be considered offensive.

4. Disallowed Text - Retailers have requested that certain text be removed from artwork before delivery. This includes credit blocks, URLs, pricing references, and festival laurels.

If your artwork doesn't meet one of the above requirements, then Quiver will reject the artwork file and request a new file.
